Clot de la Mare de Déu Natural Municipal Park

The Clot de la Mare de Déu Natural Municipal Park, is a unique natural space, since it is one of the rare examples of oak forests present in the Plana Baixa.

With an area of 17.84 hectares and located on the coast next to the Burriana beaches which turn it into a mandatory place to visit for tourists and the public that arrive in Burriana each summer in search of sun, sand and beaches.

El Clot de la Mare de Déu has vegetation characteristic of oak forests with with poplars and willows on the more outer edges of the streams, reeds and rushes in contact with water. In the gorge, an area at the mouth of el Clot, the vegetation is more more halophilic (salty), such as the salt ceder. In terms of the fauna the presence of aquatic birds such as the little grebe, the little bittern, the dunlin and the cattle egret stand out among others, while reptiles such as the la viperine water snake, the Montpellier snake and the European pond turtle. Everything that has originated in this enclave is included in the Comunidad Valenciana Catalogue of Humid Areas.
