The castle is situated over a promontory over the Salinas gorge from where the meander forming the River Mijares could be controlled as it passed through Cirat.
The castle is montane in style with two areas. The remains of a semi-circular tower can be seen as well as various sections of the wall at the most vulnerable point since the other had a natural defence offered by the very location of the site. There are also remains of an uncovered water cistern. The beginning of the vaulting and the impermeable walls can be observed.
Next to it is a rectangular structure for an unknown use comprised of regular blocks. Decorated Islamic ceramics have been found on the surface: edges, handles, etc.
It’s located 300 metres from the town and you can reach it via a path.
