The Cristo del Hospital chapel is the last remaining trace of the old hospital given to the city of Vila-real by King James I upon its foundation. It was later converted into a monastery for Dominican nuns. Baroque in style, the single-nave barrel vault chapel and the decor on the apse and dome stand out. The high altar, decorated with angel carvings, wreaths and gold medallions, holds a copy of the old hospital crucifix.
