This route takes us through the Valltorta Ravine, home to one of the finest rock art complexes and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
We suggest setting off from the Mas de Navarro and taking the trail to the ravine. After some 2 kilometres along the Valltorta Ravine we reach the Abrigos de la Saltadora rocks on the right and the Great Cave of Puntal on the right. A little further on, from inside the ravine we can see the Tolls de Matà and shortly after we exit de ravine climbing up steeply to the right. We later arrive at the masías of Refoies, Bassa and Peret before returning to Mas de Navarro. It makes for a short but varied route.
You can even take a guided tour of the masías to see some of the paintings displayed within. These visits depart from the Valltorta Museum (Tel. 964 33 60 10). The Abrigos formation is closed and cannot be visited without a guide.
In the attached images you can see the map, the altitude profiles and distances and some photos.
