La Cueva Negra

About 800 metres away from the town, on the road from Montanejos to La Puebla de Arenoso, is the northern start of the Sendero de La Bojera, and after a brief 700 metre walk, a small ascending path that leads to what is known as Cueva Negra.

It is a large cave and is accessed through a large mouth of 26x10 m. On its inside it is home to an enormous room with an area of 2,300 m2 and a volume of 40,000m3, which has become one of the largest in the Comunidad Valenciana.

It is a cave of great geological interested formed by great blocks that, given their arrangement, they form pseudo-galleries. These rock fragments are known as clasts and they are the product of rockfall processes.
