El Chorro

The Arenoso reservoir (Campos de Arenoso) is in the municipalities of Montanejos and Puebla de Arenoso, on the course of the Mijares river. El Chorro is its outflow point, a spillway known as a floodgate, which has a capacity of 41m3/s.

If you descend the nearby bridge, you can see the power and the beauty of the water at its outlet, as well as the spectacular vertical limestone walls, through which the channeling has been excavated. It calls to attention the extraordinary horizontal nature of the geological strata.
