Onda has a long and storied history, with Iberian settlements going as far back as the 6th-1st century BC. It was important during Arabic times, as evidenced by a significant Muslim medina, dating from the 10th-13th century. And the Medieval town has marked the history of the region from the 13th to the 19th century. Now it is an important centre for the production of tiles.
