Water Cisterns

Their origins are estimated as Neolithic as several settlements have been found. They were also strategically important as resistance efforts depended on them when attacking castles and fortresses.

These water cisterns are structures that made it possible to collect water during rainy seasons. These water cisterns are of significant architectural value as even today it’s obvious just how complex and complicated these structures were, especially the oldest ones (Quartic, Piedrafita and el Mas).
