Los Estrechos

The area known as Los Estrechos is located between the town of Montanejos, some 2.5km, and the Arenoso reservoir (Campos de Arenoso). It is one of the most beautiful stretches of the Mijares river and with the richest landscape.

The flow of the river flows through a gorge of some 25 metres wide, embedded between practically vertical walls that exceed 100 metres in height in some stretches.  It is a place with climbing areas with international fame and with great attraction for of nature and white water sports.

Currently a trail called Sendero de Los Estrechos has been created, that borders the area of Los Estrechos by the mountain. It is a local circular trail of more than an 8 km round trip. In order to complete the trail, the start is at the bottom of the river that is just to the right of the Balneario.
