El Pozo de las Palomas and the Cirat Cave
Water is the most emblematic aspect of Montán, due to its high quality and properties, as well as its quantity, as there are more than 35 springs spread across the area.
Outside the village centre, you can find various springs with leisure areas. Highlights include La Tejería, a natural spring with sulphate-bicarbonate water, the El Nacimiento spring, which supplies water to the whole village, and the Fuente Amarilla, whose water has diuretic properties. The El Plano spring and the Felicia are on the path towards Torralba, and their waters begin at an altitude of over one thousand metres.
Undoubtedly, the single most impressive natural spot here is the Pozo de las Palomas, located on the Canales cliffs, where the incline of the water forms roughly 42 metre-large waterfalls, and 2 natural pools that are ideal for bathing.
Another important spot is the Cirat Cave, where marble was quarried in the past. Inside, you can admire its underground beauty and gaze at the stalactites and stalagmites.
Montán offers the opportunity for various adventure sports such as rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking and horse riding.
