The Vallorta Musuem, located in the town of Tirig, some 500m from the Barranc de la Valltorta and very near the centre of the caves with paintings, it acts as the Visitor Centre for the Parc Cultural Valltorta-Gasulla. Built in 1994 by the Valencian Government, in order to watch the conservation, study and spread of cave art, as well as spaces for work such as laboratories and libraries, through its rooms we can discover the Cave Art of the Comunitat Valenciana.
Room 1: THE PALAEOLITHIC HUNTERS AND THE BIRTH OF ART It focuses on describing the early artistic manifestations of prehistoric peoples and the variety of tools and objects associated with Homo sapiens.
Room 2: THE ART OF THE MESOLITHIC HUNTERS AND THE NEOLITHIC FARMERS: TWO WAYS OF EXPRESSING LIFE.
Room 3: COVA DE CAVALLS. Reproduces a real stretch of the Cova de Cavalls and presents an impressive slide show that describes not only the life of prehistoric communities but also the techniques to make the paintings and their reasons and history.
Room 4: THE TRIUMPH OF AGRICULTURE: NEW WAYS OF EXPRESSION Expansion of agricultural and livestock groups
Room 5: CAVE ART, A WORLD HERITAGE. And the various events that led to UNESCO's Declaration as a World Heritage Site.
Room 6: THE PARC CULTURAL DE VALLTORTA-GASULLA.
