It was built in 1684, but restored in the 19th century. It’s on a nearby mound from where there are good views of the town and surrounding area.

During the night of Holy Thursday, the Passion of Christ is staged in Borriol under the name of "New Jerusalem”.  The "Road to Calvary" becomes absolutely spectacular as the crucifixion is staged at the top of it.
