The municipality of Torralba del Pinar is nestled in the heart of the Alto Mijares, on the northern face of the Sierra de Espadán mountain range. To get there from Onda, Tales, Sueras, Ayódar and Torralba, take the CV-205 and the CS-V-2231. It can also be reached via the CS-V-2231, passing through Pavias on the way.
While some believe that Torralba's roots lie in a primitive Arabic hamlet, others contend that the town does not date back any further than the 16th century, when the place belonged to the Barony of Ayódar. The first recorded document referring to the ancient village of Torralba, Vialeba, is signed by the Muslim King Abu Zeyt, in which he undertakes to cede his lands to James I and to convert to Christianity. In Valencia Cathedral we also find the will belonging to Abu Zeyt's son, Fernando - who had converted by this time - in which he bequeaths the castle of Vialeba and Torralba to his heirs.
