Easter in Vila-Real is one of the oldest in the Valencian Region, with references that date back to 1546. The great number of guilds and brotherhoods and the huge artistic value of the religious images parading every year in the processions of Holy Wednesday or Holy Burial, the Silence procession or the gathering on Easter Sunday have granted the Easter in Vila-Real the name of Festivity of Regional Tourist Interest.
