On the second Sunday of May the day of the patron saint of the town of Alcalà is celebrated, the Virgin of the Desamparados, patron saint of the city of Valencia. In this festivity of purely religious character all the protagonism falls in the celebration of the major Mass and later solemn procession through the streets of the center of the town, in which many faithful dressed in traditional Valencian costumes participate.
