Toga Castle

This castle is of Moorish origin and is located in the lower part of the village, next to the River Mijares. Its construction and usage are related to the strategic importance of the imposing Mijares gorge, which is located downstream of the narrow passage to Toga. At present, it is in a precarious state of conservation, although you can still admire some of the outer defensive structure’s walls. It has an irregular shape and over time went from being a military strategic complex to a stately castle-palace.
