Diverse municipalities within the province- Dates: Months of January and February

 

During the months of January and February, numerous municipalities in the province of Castellón hold gastronomic days in which the truffle (Tuber Melanosporum) takes centre stage on the menus that are created. The menus' starters, main courses and desserts are elaborated with excellent prime ingredients, in which the truffle provides a special taste which is so highly valued by those who truly love good gastronomy.

The province of Castellón is one of Spain's main producers of this prized mushroom. It grows, above all, in the regions of Els Ports, Alt Maestrat and Alto Palancia, where these days are primarily held.

Alongside these gastronomic days, fairs take place in the province in which fresh truffles and gastronomic products created with truffles can be bought, as well as dishes put together with this delicacy. Moreover, these fairs help us to get to know about the world of truffles; the way it grows, its harvesting and its particularities, etc.
