Held during August. The first week of celebrations includes the presentation of the Festival Queens (a similar concept to American prom queens), and their court of honour. San Roque is celebrated on 15 August, and highlights include a big street party where people usually stay up all night long. At seven in the morning in the Plaza de la Iglesia, canes and shawls are handed out before the start of the pilgrimage up to the Ermita de San Roque (a small church). There, a mass is held in honour of the saint. Later, a blessed rollo or pastry is distributed. During the second week of August, a whole week of bullfights is held.
