During the last days of August the Patron Saint Festivities take place in Alcalà, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus; Authentic major parties of the year for their importance and tradition. The main acts take place during the last week of the month, generally starting on the third Saturday of August, with a multitude and very varied recreational and participative acts for all ages and tastes; having as main acts the presentation of the parties and subsequent gala dance, the cavalcade of the proclamation of parties the next day and the mass and procession in honor of San Juan Bautista, patron saint of the town, on August 29. Also, great importance charge the bullfighting acts and the verbenas.
The second week of September sees the relay in the Fiestas Patronales take Alcossebre, where apart from the bullfighting celebrations in the square raised for the occasion and night festivals highlights the area of tents located next to the bullring and in which Different collas and local associations set up their tent open to all the neighbors and the numerous visitors who wish to enjoy magnificent holidays at the seaside.
