San Juan Festivity

San Juan festivity

Local festivity in HONOUR of SAN JUAN held on the 24th, traditionally known as “Los mozos festivity” (men) who, that night, show their love to girls making paintings with lime from their door to the girl’s favourite. Also following the tradition, all the women gather in the square at 12 am and begin a pilgrimage from fountain to fountain washing their faces and singing.

During the night, men sing the “ALBADAS” just created in the bars, writing verses referring to anecdotes and events occurred during the year in a fun and amusing tone.

All of this together with religious and pagan activities as in the previous festivity.
