On the second Saturday in September, the patron saint celebrations in honour of the ‘Virgen de la Luz’ start. They begin with the presentation of the Festival Queen and her Court of Honour (a similar custom to that of American prom queens). This week features various performances by musical, theatrical and dance groups.
