San Antonio

It is held on January 17th in honour of San Antonio Abad, the patron saint of animals. The party begins with the animal blessing and a horse race that goes around the different bonfires that are lit in some areas of the town. This race, called “matxà”, is headed by a jockey who carries the standard of the saint. At the end of the race, a wine “porrat” and nuts are given out, along with the typical blessed rolls.
