Torrelló del Boverot archaeological site

d - Almassora

Fortified settlement beside the river Mijares, occupied for over 1,000 years.

Torrelló is a village on the left bank of the river Mijares, covering 1,700 square metres on the upper terrace of the river. This site is located between another two well-known archaeological sites - Torrelló de Onda and Vinarragell - which date from approximately the same era. Different periods of occupation, a variety of construction systems and a large amount of material - bone, stone, ivory, sea shells and clay -  have been documented in Torrelló del Boverot, reflecting the use of local raw materials.
