Figueroles

Figueroles is one of the villages in the Tinença de L'Alcalatén, which James I gave to the Aragonese noble man, Don Juan Ximen d'Urrea, around 1233. Its population came from Aragon and Catalonia. After a few centuries of ecclesiastical and administrative dependence on Lucena, it is established as an independent parish and municipality in 1602 and 1726 respectively.

The main activity in this township is the tile industry, being agriculture and services minor activities.
What to see
Enjoy exploring the old part of the municipality, where you will find the church and the "Casa dels Colegials" (17th-century).

Landscape


The landscape is mountainous and typically Mediterranean. Olives, almonds and scrublands predominate. The climate is also Mediterranean and the average elevation is around 370 m.
